Connect. Learn. Thrive.
We’re excited to announce the launch of a new program called Thriving Seniors.
This innovative program is guided by the input of JFS’s new Seniors Leadership Team and is designed to promote greater equity in wellness through knowledge, connection, and support for seniors in our community. Virtual meetings and workshops take place over Zoom and will include themes like “staying safe at home”, “mental health”, “living with chronic illness”, and support for practical tasks like accessing benefits and filling out government forms. Tablets and iPads will be used as part of our Loan and Learn program to enable seniors without access to the internet or computers to engage virtually with one-on-one support.
Upcoming workshops are available on our events page: https://www.jfsvancouver.ca/events/
Volunteers are an important part of this program too! They are needed to provide support for attending virtual workshops and for new tablet users. Please contact Tamar Stein, Seniors Community Outreach Liaison, at 604-558-5709 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
