For years, Project Isaiah has been a community-wide food drive collecting non-perishables. Each year, you’ve stepped up and met the needs of our community.
Did you know that by supporting Project Isaiah with a financial donation, you can provide additional benefits to our community?
With your help, Project Isaiah can have a bigger and better impact than ever before, in more ways than one!
You can make a bigger difference in your community.
Making the shift to a financial donation allows your donation to make a greater impact.
In the past 3 years, the number of people reaching out to JFS for support has more than doubled. Combined with the high inflation rate and increasing cost of groceries, it is more important than ever that we all try to make our dollars stretch further.
Using your donation to purchase from our wholesalers can buy 3x as much food as at the grocery store. That means you can provide more food to others without cutting into your own food budget.
As an additional bonus, financial donations are fully tax receiptable!
You can help us change the way we operate.
Our Grocery Program has evolved toward providing quality fresh food. When we receive cash donations, it allows us to ensure people receive nutritious, perishable foods that don’t usually get distributed in a food bank.
For example, a standard order in the Grocery Program contains:
- Bread or challah
- Yogurt, cheese, eggs, and almond milk
- At least 5 veggies (potatoes, onions, carrots, garlic, zucchini)
- At least 3 fruits (apples, oranges, bananas)
Families enrolled in the Breakfast Club also receive:
- Granola bars
- Peanut or nut butter
- Rice or pasta
The groceries JFS provides include many of the high-cost, nutrient-dense foods that are the first items that families cut back on to try to make their grocery budget last. Making sure that everyone has access to enough nutritious food results in a happier, healthier population.
