Get ready to make a difference!

JFS' annual community food drive is back to fight food insecurity and support the JFS Food Security programs.

You can help over 1,600 community members access nourishing food for a healthy life.

Two Ways to Participate

Option 1: Virtual Food Drive

Make a difference from the comfort of your home! Virtual food drives are a fantastic way for everyone to participate, regardless of time or physical ability constraints. It also helps you extend your purchasing power--when you let JFS do the shopping for you, every $1 you spend gives JFS the value of $3.

Participate online or by calling 604-558-5715.

Option 2: In-Kind Food Drive

  1. Pick up your Project Isaiah bags at participating locations September 22 – October 3
  2. Fill your bags with nourishing pantry items, especially healthy cereals and granola bars, pastas, beans and lentils, and rice
  3. Drop off your bag at any participating organization by October 6 (The JFS Kitchen is accepting donations throughout all of September and October.)

Your Impact

By partnering with us for Project Isaiah, you can make a significant impact.

Your support ensures that each of the over 1,600 people who rely on JFS food programs each month—children and families, older adults, and people living with disabilities—will have access to culturally appropriate, nourishing food each month.

Thanks to community-minded partners and donors like you, each month JFS Food Security programs:

  • Pack and distribute 2,450+ bags of nourishing groceries, supporting over 1,000 people—including 258 children and 470 older adults
  • Prepare and deliver 1,000+ Kosher/Parve meals to 100 older adults and disabled community members
  • Provide grocery gift cards to ensure access to food for those living in more remote areas
  • Host skill-building cooking classes and events for children and adults that foster resilience, connection, and dignity

Virtual Food Drive

Make a difference from the comfort of your own home!

Virtual food drives are a powerful way for everyone to participate, regardless of time or physical ability constraints.

It also helps you extend your purchasing power--when you participate in the Virtual Food Drive, we can purchase from our wholesalers and buy 3x as much food as at the grocery store!

Whether you can contribute $5 or $5,000, your donation makes a meaningful impact in the lives of friends, neighbours, and community members. For example:

  • $72 can provide a person with disabilities 1 month's worth of nutritious meals
  • $180 can provide a single adult/senior with healthy food for 3 months
  • $360 can provide the Breakfast Club supplement to a family for 6 months
  • $720 can provide 2 families with nutritious groceries for 4 months
  • $1,800 can provide food skills and education to over 100 clients

Yes! All contributions made to the Virtual Food Drive go to supporting food security programs at JFS and are fully tax deductible.
