No waitlist. Affordable care. Culturally sensitive support.
Life can be overwhelming. Whether you are navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, grief, family conflict or a difficult life transition, having someone to talk to can make all the difference.
Yet finding the right counselling support isn't always easy. Long waitlists, high costs and the challenge of finding a therapist who understands your cultural background can prevent people from reaching out.
At Jewish Family Services (JFS), we believe mental health support should be accessible when you need it, not months later.
That's why we're excited to announce the expansion of our Clinical Counselling Services across British Columbia, financially supported by the Community Action Initiative (CAI), making professional, compassionate and culturally sensitive care available to more individuals, couples and families.
The Right Support, Without the Wait
Our expanded counselling program offers no waitlist, flexible scheduling and both in-person and virtual appointments, making it easier to access support wherever you live in BC.
Our team of registered clinicians and supervised master's-level counselling interns provides personalized care for a wide range of challenges, including:
- Individual counselling: Anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief and life transitions.
- Couples counselling: Communication, conflict, emotional connection and relationship challenges.
- Family therapy: Parenting, intergenerational differences, family relationships and navigating change together.
Every person's experience is different. Our counsellors take the time to understand your needs, experiences and goals, using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches to support your well-being.
Counselling That Understands You
Feeling understood is an important part of healing.
Rooted in Jewish values of compassion, dignity and community care, JFS provides culturally sensitive counselling that recognizes how identity, family, traditions and lived experiences shape our mental health.
Our services are open to everyone, regardless of cultural, ethnic or religious background. We strive to create a welcoming space where people can speak openly, feel respected and receive care that reflects their individual needs.
Affordable Care Shouldn't Be Out of Reach
Cost should never be the reason someone goes without mental health support.
JFS offers sliding-scale fees to make counselling more accessible:
- Registered clinicians: $50–$130 per session
- Supervised counselling interns: $15–$25 per session
No one is turned away due to an inability to pay.
