Brent Davis

Brent Davis has spent most of his life involved in Vancouver’s Jewish Community. It started at preschool at the JCC after which he attended Vancouver Talmud Torah. His summers were spent at Camp Shalom, Camp Hatikvah, and participating in the Maccabi Games.In 2012, Brent graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor degree in Finance and moved back to Vancouver where he began a career in sales working at BuildDirect. He transitioned to the financial services industry in 2015 with Freedom 55 Financial.

In 2018, Brent moved to ZLC Financial, where he is fortunate to work with Garry Zlotnik and ZLC in supporting community organizations on a corporate level.

Outside of ZLC, Brent is actively involved with the JCC, Talmud Torah, Chabad Richmond and JFS committees. He is also on the board of Canadian Friends of Hebrew University.

Brent looks forward to continuing to use his professional expertise to serve the greater Jewish Community.

Risa Levine

Risa Levine

Risa Levine is an active member of the community, where she has for over fifty years served on boards and chaired task forces of numerous organizations, including the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver and the Jewish Community Foundation, Temple Sholom Synagogue, Vancouver Talmud Torah, Vancouver Foundation, Rise Women’s Legal Centre, Allard Law at UBC, and most recently, as a member of the Afghan Women Judges Support Committee of the Canadian Chapter of the International Association of Women Judges. Professionally, Risa practised law for 17 years and served as a judge of the BC Supreme Court (1995-2001) and the Court of Appeal for BC (2001-2014). She retired from her legal career in 2014.

Jacqueline Misshula

With over 18 years of experience as an HR professional, Jacqueline Misshula is currently a VP of People & Culture at lululemon.  She collaborates with executives, cross-functional partners, and peers to develop and manage people strategies for growth across their Global & North American business operations.  Jacqueline recently celebrated her 10th year with lululemon, and to date, one of her career highlights was the opportunity to lead the development and execution of their Parenthood program. This program has had a huge impact on parents throughout the Globe by providing paid leave & other support for lululemon families.

Jacqueline is also passionate about health & fitness and completed her yoga teacher training in 2010.  Prior to moving to Vancouver, she used to teach yoga at a local women’s shelter in Toronto.  She is community focused and continually looks for ways to contribute in a positive social manner.

Jacqueline is a proud mother to 3 children, Moses (8 years old), Florence (4 years old), and Goldie (1 years old) and has is also a member of the Board for the charity organization, Baby Go Round. 

Dr. Raechelle Paperny_2

Dr. Raechelle Paperny

Raechelle Paperny Ph.D., R. Psych.  was born in Vancouver and raised in the local Jewish Community. She recently returned to Vancouver after living for many years in Calgary. She is a registered psychologist in both Alberta and British Columbia. For the past 30 years, she has worked in the field as a researcher, university professor, consultant, and clinician. Her therapeutic private practice focuses on strengthening family relationships using her expertise in the fields of attachment, interpersonal-neurobiology, and developmental psychology.  Raechelle has a longstanding relationship with Jewish Family Services, serving on the JFS Calgary Board of Directors for a decade, as secretary, vice-president, president, and past president. During her tenure, she developed and chaired the highly successful JFSC fundraiser series, that included screenings of The Boys of Buchenwald and Beautiful Music, as well as hosting authors, Michael Wex and David Bezmogis. Through her involvement, she developed a deep connection with the organization, its mission, and the community it serves. It is a sentiment that she shares with her husband, Lorne, and adult children Shoshanna & Leo.    

Shelley Rivkin

Shelley Rivkin

Shelley Rivkin MSW RSW. Throughout her career Shelley has focused on working to improve the lives of the individuals, children, and families. After working as a front-line social worker with BC Housing for five years, she joined the Justice Institute of BC to develop interdisciplinary training for police, prosecutors, and social workers in response to domestic violence and child abuse. Over the years, she became known for building bridges across professions and communities and won numerous awards for her innovative approaches to training and community building. She was recognized by both the Vancouver Police Department and the RCMP for her work.  She was also nominated for a YWCA woman of distinction award and was a recipient of the MOSAIC Human Rights Award.

In 2007, she was hired by Jewish Federation to be the Vice President, Planning, Allocations and Community Affairs, a position she held for the past 16 years. During her years at Federation, she worked collaboratively with a wide range of partner agencies, professionals, rabbis, and community volunteers to address community needs. She was the driving force behind many of Federation’s initiatives including the regional communities’ strategy, enhanced support for day school education and the food security task force.

Shelley continues to teach in the social services department at Langara College and was recently appointed to the board of MAZON Canada. In 2018, she was the proud recipient of the Jewish Family Service’s Jewish Community Professional Award.
